Generally NYFW shows are “invite only” however, if you want to attend shows, look at the schedule on NYFW.com, find the brand contacts whose shows you are interested in attending, and reach out to them they may be able to get you onto a guest list. It is also beneficial to join Fashion GPS to assist in requesting invitations, but if you are able to afford tickets for non “invite only” shows you can buy tickets through the NYFW Experience.
Most work done at NYFW is voluntary or pays a very small amount however, this is wonderful exposure and experience that no one should pass up if they are interested in pursuing a career in any type of a fashion outlet. Similar to attending shows, reaching out to certain vendors, artists, or designers may help you find someone who is willing to take you on as an employee or a volunteer. Runway7Fashion is a very useful tool when wanting to reach out to such people, and helped me gain the opportunity to work at NYFW multiple times. It is a tool that can be used continually and will be the most effective.
Dylan Mulvaney is an actress, comedian, and TikTok personality. Dylan is known for documenting her gender transition in daily videos on TikTok since 2022. On October 26, 2022, Mulvaney spoke with the President at the White House about transgender rights. On November 17, 2022 Kalthy Hilton invited Dylan to her house for a pajama party where they celebrated Dylan’s day 250 of Girlhood.
Mercedes Justine Kaestner-Varnado is a professional wrestler and she is currently signed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling under the ring name Mercedes Moné. Mercedes is best known for her time in WWE, where she was known under the ring name Sasha Banks from 2012 to 2022. In 2020, she won the SmackDown Women’s Championship at the Hell in a Cell and Mercedes was named Wrestler of the Year by Sports Illustrated.
Trinity Fatu is a professional wrestler and she is currently signed to Impact Wrestling, under her first name Trinity. She is best known for her time in WWE from 2009 to 2022, where she performed under the ring name Naomi. Trinity won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Sasha Banks at WrestleMania 38 in 2022.
Jessica Jade believes in optimism and uses her fashion to add sparkles to the world. Icons such as Christina Aguilera, Noah Cyrus, Brad Mondo, Sabrina Carpenter, Anitta (Vogue Brasilia), and Jelani Rice (Rolling Stone) have worn her works.
